Tracks: Never Let Go [ALR, ALR2002] Song Within A Song [ALR, ALR2002]
Notes: The liner notes of ALR2002 say Never Let Go was recorded at the Colston Hall, Bristol, UK. This is very unlikely as the track is the same as on the original ALR. As further explained in the post below, we think we can safely assume the track was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon. Also, on the back cover of ALR2002, Chord Change is attributed to this concert, but this is an error.
When creating the original "guide to official live recordings" thread, longtalleric posed some questions about ALR and ALR2002. Below you'll find got the hump's answers.

Zitat von longtalleric 1b. I think the tracks labeled "Colston Hall, Bristol 1977" were recorded on 2 October 1977 (again, I base my statement on the tour table.
Agree with your date/venue suggestion. However "Never Let Go" is the same performance as on the original release and my impression is that the Bristol attribtuion is a mistake on the re-issue.
Zitat von longtalleric 2: Never Let Go is credited on the original as being recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, and on the remaster at the Colston Hall in Bristol. As I only have the original (not the remaster) I can't compare these. Are they the same? If so, when and where would this be recorded? If not, would it be safe to assume that the credited date and venue are correct (depending on what we find out with question #1, of course). :)
As per reply to 1b, they are the same performance. I favour Hammersmith Odeon mainly because of the other mistakes on the re-issue liner notes, but also for the (much weaker) reason that I read a post by an attendee at the Hammersmith concert claiming to identify his shout from the crowd.
Zitat von got the hump"Chord Change" is not part of this gig (don't think it was ever played in 1977). The ALR2002 back cover attribution is another error; however the correct attribution for the song (Hammersmith 1976) is given in the liner notes within the booklet.
