How about a little game to pass the time while waiting for the (hopefully) soon to be (possibly) released new DVD. Lets play name the new DVD game. What about THE CLOSING HELLO ?
Well the actual title is now known: "In from the cold" Not sure where that came from. Just got the Camel DVD last Monday, and started watching today (too much going on) and it looks great! Good to see Guy in better days. let's pray for his speedy recovery. It's basically "just" the full concert registration,no extra's no fancy things, but great footage, clear picture and some nice angles from the mounted cameras near Guy's and Denis' gear. I noticed from the 1 page leaflet that David Minasian co-directed/edited it again. As already said elsewhere, the whole packaging is a bit of a letdown: 1-page leaflet, single side dvd cover with strange horizontal layout. Still did not hesitate one moment to pitch in 25 euro's for it...just glad it came in time for this tour.
The new DVD is billiant, very good sound and almost perfect camera. For anybody who attended the 2013/2014 Snow Goose Tour it's a MUST to renew the good concert-memories!
Thanks to Michael who bought and sent it to me as i could not attend the German Shows 2014 (but i was in Fulda Nov 1 2013..:-)))
Zitat von glco8284 im Beitrag #13Did anyone notice that the sound is different than the bootlegs,I mean not the same tune
In fact, there are some small differences between the DVD and the bootleg. This is particularly evident at the beginning of the title "Rhayader". Listen to it in parallel on time please. You will notice each of you.
I have only the explanation, the Camel has "something repaired" at this point.
Not such an unusual thing for bands to re-record parts of a live recording to correct playing mistakes or technical glitches. I recall reading that Andy Ward's drum track for the Snow Goose (from the Royal Albert Hall) was completely re-recorded for the original release of "A Live Record", though the original track was restored for the expanded version of the album released in 2002.
